My next run happened last night following a two week hiatus (weekend away and a subsequent chest infection literally stopped me in my tracks). It’s now March and I don’t usually run in the evenings but you have to get back into the trainers after a spell of not running as soon as possible (at least that’s what I told myself!) and it was a nice evening – mild and a bit sunny, usual ish March weather.
It was ok, I could be seen in my luminous running top by oncoming cars (I was on the pavement but still…be safe be seen) but halfway through my phone ran out of battery so all I had to listen to was my breathing rather than my encouraging running app with the encouraging American voice telling me how far I have run so that wasn’t much fun. I did complete my run in 30 minutes this time so a little bit quicker 🙂
I did the same route as previously mainly to see if I can run a bit quicker but I’m not sure I did. I didn’t enjoy it very much this time and now have a sore toenail (bit strange – maybe it’s time for the new footwear) but I am glad that I managed to run without stopping again. The next run is scheduled for later this week and I’m thinking about running a new route to see if I’m getting any better at this running lark.
