OMG! Still June but I’ve finally done my first 10k – hooray! Still can’t quite believe it and an ok time too (well I’m pleased!) 59 mins and 25 secs!! And (I’m feeling quite smug) enjoyed it although it is quite far. Aim is now to shave 5 minutes off that time in September….
Got home, knackered and starving – has anyone else had this reaction to their first 10k? I was like Slimer from Ghostbusters and throwing food into my mouth at top speed. My daughters were saying – Are you ok Mummy whilst eyeing up the food – I think I alarmed them quite a lot!! And I have been very tired this week. I don’t think I’ll do too many more 10ks before the race in September. Next race is the 5k Race for Life – I’m aiming for 25 minutes – wish me luck. I’m off on a well deserved (I think!) holiday next week so no running, lots of sun and wine and yummy food – Hoorah!
