I thought it was cooling down until Sunday morning when I set off for my run. A bit of background – A Saturday night birthday celebration, wine, steak and birthday cake and then live music – Fantastic (we don’t get out much!). A child free evening was much fun and the good mood lasted until 10am when I set off feeling pretty confident after the result in the Race for Life 🙂 head to foot in Nike (are you listening Nike?!).
Until I got to about 4k and my word, it was so difficult! I can easily put it down to the heat – it was boiling again – but I think it was mainly the excesses of the night before seeping out of my skin – yuk! about replacing fluid so in my slightly tipsy state on Saturday, I put a bottle of water in the fridge and managed most of it before I set off – thank goodness. I managed 7k but did not feel very good afterwards, so I’m going to stop running up and down hills for a bit (at least until it cools down a little bit more).
Is anyone else suffering from training- itis? Since I ran a 10k, I feel like my motivation has depleted a little 🙁 Maybe I just need to concentrate a bit more!! My entry is in now so I’m bound! Just need to set up my Just Giving page and wait for the other necessary bits and pieces and that is it! Hurtling towards 22 September…..
