You are what you eat..

September 3, 2013 By Chris Williams

I found out last night that you really are a product of what you eat.  After a lunchtime buffet in work (the afternoon was hard work with the sugar lows and fighting with the spring rolls and pizza :S) but I ploughed on with my planned run.

oof, it was so hard going, my legs felt like lead and my chest was really tight 🙁  I haven’t had a long break between runs – just a week so it was definitely the food!  And I felt strangely un-motivated- maybe again that was the food affect…I was really surprised how much it affected me so with only 3 weeks to go until the Big Day, I will be upping my water consumption and treating my body like a temple!  Plus increasing my runs to twice a week which leaves only 6 to go until the race!!  I’ll see if this prep makes a noticeable difference on my next run but any ‘ good food to eat before a run’ suggestions will be appreciated! (I’m currently channelling bananas and water)  The only good thing was it was a lush evening and my time was ok, I only lost a few seconds so still on for a 55 minute 10k 🙂
