Before the Race

answers on What to do before the race?

Sleep yourself a great race

The night before a race you'll be feeling excited or anxious, so don't rely on having a good night's sleep. Instead, make sure you're well rested in the nights leading up to the big day. Don't worry, a single night's poor rest won't affect your performance.

Plan your pre-race breakfast

Know what you're going to eat and when you're going to eat it. Stick to tried and tested food that you've used in training. If you have to travel to the race, bring food with you, don't rely on 'finding it'.

Stick to what you know

The 'never try anything new on race day' rule applies to equipment and food. It may be tempting to wear that shiny new race t-shirt, try a last minute bottle of new-flavour sports drink or even new shoes, but unless they're tried and tested, they could sabotage your race.

Where is the assembly point for the 10k?

The start assembly point is on the dual carriageway on Oystermouth Road (outside St Helens Rugby Ground) from approx 12.30pm.   There will be a warm up 10 minutes before the race.

For the main Admiral Swansea Bay 10k race, the assembly area is split into time band zones.  Please assemble in the area that corresponds to your predicted race finish time.  This should ensure that you are running with runners of similar ability to give you the best possible experience and finish time.

Please take into consideration additional time for possible traffic queues and parking when planning your journey.

What's in my race pack?

Race packs will be sent out to all participants two weeks before the race. Your race pack contains your race number, timing chip and information booklet to prepare you for the day.

Do I need to register on the day?

No - there will be no entry or registration on the day.

Any other queries?

Should you have any event related queries, the information marquee will be located on the promenade directly opposite the Recreation Ground Car Park.

The lost children point is in the Information Marquee.
